Networks:
The emancipatory potential of networks has proven false: in domains from social networks to communications to infrastructure to "hypertext", to thought, we find networks leading to the hardening of relationships, the insulation of dreams, the extension of modes of exploitation. Networks operate via a "tyrrany of nodes", they privilege "peers", or consumers, people like us. They end up recuperating and formalising: reifying, what is already known, already present.

Preamble

The production of structures to articulate, produce and protect space, often coded under the disciplinary term 'architecture' is arguably one of humanity's oldest activities. Countless technologies and legal frameworks have grown along with this process. Formerly one of the most collaborative endeavours, architecture now often functions in opposition to such collaboration.

Mia has now provided a proofed version of Toni's text. Now, Toni must look through these proposed changes before we can go ahead. Please see the attached Word Document.

Finally, to get on an even footing with you gals, I post here my introduction to my literature review and maybe even attach the current working abstract. The past weeks I have been frantically working on my literature review, trying to condense into a few weeks what usually probably takes a year. It all seems a bit hopeless. To convince myself that there is light at the end of the tunnel I have written an Introduction to my lit review which I post here. this is mainly for mysefl to chart a way through the undergrowth and explain to myself what it actually is that I am trying to do here.

reading again armin's thought-provoking Waves - art of deconcealement text just now a paragraph towards the end reminded me of something i had to write recently, a blurb, for an oz art&tech publication. and ive had lindsay's spooky silurian image in my head for days. so i just did a quick cut up, for fun. it made me realise how i miss working with 2 friends --together we occasionally work/play under the banner of identity_runners, and its a fully open source methodology of sharing everything for everyone ..if i get a chance i'll post sumething about our method
