New Howto for New Users

Hi all

this is the very infrequent TNL newsletter. We would like to inform you about a new Howto. Due to popular demand an explanation was written about the very basics of what you can do and how you can do it on this site:
http://www.thenextlayer.org/howto

If you feel that there are other things to be said or asked, feel free to write comments or use the Howto section to contribute yourself. You can also write back to this email address, which is the admin account, or to armin at easynet dot co dot uk which is checked more frequently.

best regards
Armin

New Research Group on Technopolitics

Hi Nextlayerers,

this is the very infrequent TNL newsletter. I think it is time again to usw this way of getting in touch with you since, a) there are quite a few new subscribers and b) we have an exciting new research group called technopolitics.

To new subscribers a warm welcome. If you do have any trouble understanding the mechanics of the site, the things that you can do and that you cant, please dont hesitate to email me, preferably not as a response to this adress but to my other adress armin at easynet(dot)co(dot)uk

New features on thenextlayer.org

Dear Subscribers,

first of all a belated happy new year. It has been fairly quiet for a while as thenextlayer.org went through a phase of restructuring. Thanks to the great in-kind support of lo-res.org TNL has now a new web home, a dedicated virtual machine. Since then, response speed of pages has been greatly improved and the site has run stable.

Following the successful taxi-to-praxi research seminar last year in April, a range of new features have been implemented. Some of these features are documented on the How-to page: http://www.thenextlayer.org/howto

taxi-to-praxi: invitation to join discussion

Dear All,

as a subscriber to The Next Layer website I would like to point your attention to the following topic and event:

On April 21st at Goldsmiths, Digital Studio, an experimental workshop will be held about practice-led PhDs. You find the full blurb below and on our homepage. This event is jointly organised by Adnan Hadzi of Deptford TV and me. We would like to invite you to join this discussion. Our blurb is very minimal and only scracthes the surface of many contentious issues related to practice led PhDs, research, new technologies and methodologies.

message to new users
