This is a short clip of a cloth serviette sinking downward into the sea, and to me is just an idea for a larger piece of work. Again the imagery has a number of layers such as the separation of social classes; the richness, wealth and progress that the Titanic symbolised, contrasted against the hopes of the working class held below decks looking for a New World beginning. The cloth is a traditional embroidered serviette, the silk thread and white of the cotton reflecting the light quite dramatically until the sinking object is quite far under the water. The audio is a separate recording of the tide coming in under a small local pier, it is therefore quiet and understated.
