The Piano Teacher

Set in (relatively) modern-day Vienna, this is the story of an obsessive relationship between mother and daughter and the 'abnormalities' that such a relationship might breed in respect of wayward sexual tendencies, voyeurism, self harm and an inability to love... very Freudian. The inability of the main character to change, parallels the 'inbetween state' that could be characteristic of a feminine sublime, that is emotional (heart felt) in nature.
