Spectral Ecologies
Spectral Ecologies is a series of two 3-day investigative workshops led by Berlin-based artist Martin Howse. They will investigate complex city-wide spectral ecologies constructed through subtle interactions between electrical and magnetic fields (EMF) emitted by all electrical equipment, physical materials, communication technologies (wireless networks, mobile phone networks, RFID, television, radio, radar), power lines, biological phenomena, and geological properties in Newcastle upon Tyne & Dundee, UK. The events are collaboratively organised between Sneha Solanki (Polytechnic) and Lindsay Brown (University of Dundee) and supported by both Polytechnic (Newcastle) and Abertay University (Dundee). There is an open call for participants and more information can be found at this link.
