Hobart-based Liz Turner, Curator of Invertebrate Zoology at the Tasmanian Museum in Hobart, Rosny Collections and Research Facility, says “For the world to be able to see the photographs of a live Giant Squid is a huge leap in the quest for knowledge about these gargantuans of the oceans”.</p> <a href="/node/767"><img src="http://tnl-6.local/files/images/Squid 2.thumbnail.jpg" alt="Squid (2)" title="Squid (2)" class="image image-thumbnail " width="100" height="70" /></a><div class="field field-type-text field-field-copyright"> <div class="field-label">Copyright:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> by the article owner </div> </div> </div> <p><a href="http://tnl-6.local/node/767" target="_blank">read more</a></p> http://tnl-6.local/node/767#comments Storybook Water creatures deep-sea narrative pseudoscience science Waves Mon, 01 Dec 2008 16:44:29 +0000 Lindsay 767 at http://tnl-6.local Squid (1) http://tnl-6.local/node/766 <p>Photograph by Brian J Skerry. Inside the transparent hood is a deep red colored mantle that can crumple up or expand like a paper lantern, hence the name. JAMSTEC researcher Dr. Dhugal Lindsay is credited with coming up with the name.</p> <a href="/node/761"><img src="http://tnl-6.local/files/images/Red Lantern Medusa.thumbnail.jpg" alt="Red Lantern Medusa" title="Red Lantern Medusa" class="image image-thumbnail " width="100" height="93" /></a><p><a href="http://tnl-6.local/node/761" target="_blank">read more</a></p> http://tnl-6.local/node/761#comments Elektromagnetic Storybook narrative pseudoscience PSI science sea-life sensitive tendrils translucent Waves Wed, 26 Nov 2008 10:40:26 +0000 Lindsay 761 at http://tnl-6.local
