The text suggests the role of the imaginary both in enabling and potentially disabling this social form (i.e. the value-form as expressed in contemporary society); but it doesn't deal with the integrative processes. Some research on migrant labor struggles in the US intermodal and warehouse sectors is underway, so hopefully we will publish something on it soon. All comments welcome, changes can still be made. Thanks to Armin for the just-in-time critique on version 1.0.

http://tnl-6.local/node/1354#comments English Article Technopolitics containerization escape Forrester just-in-time supply chain management Technopolitics Fri, 21 Jan 2011 17:20:51 +0000 Brian Holmes 1354 at http://tnl-6.local Forrester, Advertising and Consumer Market http://tnl-6.local/node/1221
This is a graph by Jay Wright Forrester from his book Industrial Dynamics, showing the expected time (in weeks) that must be allotted for distribution from the factory to wholesalers, retails, and ultimately the public (on the right side of the graph) as well as the time to be allotted for advertising to be planned, executed and achieve its end, namely the creation of "effective demand" for the product (left side of the graph).

Copyright:

by the article owner

http://tnl-6.local/node/1221#comments Notes Technopolitics Technopolitics Business Process cybernetics Forrester Technopolitics Wed, 02 Dec 2009 00:38:01 +0000 Brian Holmes 1221 at http://tnl-6.local
